Southern Baja California Association for the protection of the environment and sea turtles of Los Cabos (ASUPMATOMA, A.C.), began its ecological work in the area of Los Cabos, Baja California Sur (B.C.S.) since the beginning of the 80’s, between 1980 and 1981 to be more exact. A small group of residents concerned about caring for and maintaining the incredible beauty and natural resources of Los Cabos, both locals and foreigners, decided to join forces and form a group that will participate and take action to protect the environment in this area.
This group initiated projects such as: solar electricity installation in various rural areas, programs to mitigate trash issues on public roads and the protection and conservation of sea turtles.
